We are proud to share that PI Bernadette Biedermann represented COLUMN at the Universeum Annual Meeting 2025, held from 26–28 June at the University of Graz, Austria.

The annual conference of the international network Universeum. European Academic Heritage Network took place at the University Museums of the University of Graz. The theme was “Between Opportunities and Limitations: Managing and Curating University Collections Today for Tomorrow.” The event brought together professionals, researchers, and students from across Europe. They gathered to reflect on the evolving role of academic heritage in today’s society.

Bernadette’s presentation contributed to the ongoing dialogue about how university collections can remain relevant, inclusive, and resilient in the face of social, political, and institutional change. By taking into consideration a postcolonial perspective on university heritage, the presentation asked the question which dimensions of researching university heritage will play a relevant role according to the University of Graz approach of asking the question of coloniality of the non-colonial.
